Like it or not, social media influences all of us in a lot of different ways. But one thing we all like (maybe even love) is taking cute pictures in cute, Instagram worthy locations…whether it’s a hidden gem or a popular public place.
Now some of you might think that Suriname doesn’t have that many instagramable spots, but I’m here to prove you wrong. For this post I collaborated with one of the most creative photographers I know, Gerry (@fotosbyfrancis on ig) to show you the most instagramable spots in and around Paramaribo. The focus for this article is on easy to reach spots that aren’t that far to travel to.

1. Fort Zeelandia & the area around it
I love this area because it has so much character and charm & the old buildings make for great picture setups.
2. Waka Pasi & the area around it
Waka Pasi itself is a great background for pictures or videos but if you look around you’ll be surprised how many cute instagramable picture spots you can find. For example, The Healthy Community Cafe cabana has amazing artwork.

3. Halte7 Foodtruck
This foodtruck is such a vibe! Especially at night. It holds so much history and I love the ambience.

4. Bar Bizar
I feel like I’ve said this a lot in this post….but… Bar Bizar is a super cute restaurant and a very creative space. The creativity can literally be seen hanging from or painted on the walls. For the cutest and even the most rustic pictures you can really spend hours here! And of course while you’re there, you’ve got to try the food.
