Kimboto Hideaway is a literal slice of heaven in the interior of Suriname. Surrounded by 3 sula’s (rapids), it’s home to idyllic scenery, wildlife & there are cute bunnies hopping around. I love Kimboto because you can fully enjoy nature while still having all the luxuries of home.
There are 3 cottages to choose from when visiting Kimboto:

- Almond: a homey family cottage with 2 big rooms that can comfortably fit 6 people. Also attached is a toilet-shower group, an outdoor campfire area & a kitchen with a beautiful river view.
- Mango: a luxurious 2 story cottage with 1 full master suite upstairs with a cozy sitting area, 4 bedrooms that can each fit 4 people, with their own toilet-shower group downstairs & a spacious, open concept kitchen, sitting & dining area.
- Mopé: a primal cottage with 3 bedrooms that can each fit 2 people, a seperate toilet-shower group, a spacious sitting/hammock area and its own kitchen.

Each one of the cottages is made to suit the needs of different visitor groups. All the cottages are built with natural materials and come with modern fittings that fit in seamlessly with the island’s natural beauty.

Activities on Kimboto
- kayaking
- Sula jumping (with a life vest obviously)
- Caiman spotting at night
I stayed in the Mango Cottage and all I can say is WOW! From the building itself to attention to detail & the artwork; it’s amazing to say the least. To be able to connect with nature, be surrounded by 3 sulas and still having all the comforts of home is something I’ve never seen before in the interior of Suriname. I mean where else can you dim the lights and play with cute fluffy bunnies? I cannot recommend Kimboto Hideaway enough! Definitely check it out & experience it for yourself!
